Anna Pauline Wooton

Anna Pauline Wooton age 88, longtime resident of Pleasant Ridge, passed away peacefully Monday, July 9th. Born February 24, 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved wife of the late William Wooton Sr. and mother to the late William Jr. (Sue) and Rob (late Veronica). She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan (Erin), Julie, Nicholas (Jennifer), the late Billy, Jesse and Marshall (Kelly). She was a special and fun GG (great grandmother) to Brendan, Jacob and Cadence. She was very loved by Ryan and Julie's mother, Laura, and by her cats Shadow and Noche, whom she adored.Anna was an active member of her church, First United Methodist in Ferndale, and enjoyed being a member of their Sisters group. Throughout her beautiful life she was an avid gardener and over 30 year member of the Pleasant Ridge Garden Club. Aside from gardening, Anna loved playing bridge, reading, boating, collecting antiques and spending time with her friends. However, what Anna loved most of all was her family. She received so much joy watching her sons, grandchildren and eventually great-grandchildren grow and enjoy life. Her glass half full outlook, sparkling blue eyes, and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.A celebration of Anna's life will take place at 11am on Saturday, July 14th at First United Methodist Church in Ferndale (22331 Woodward). A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Ferndale First United Methodist Church.
