Anthony Ellis Obituary

Anthony David Ellis, born on September 16, 1973, in Madison Heights, Michigan, to Barbara Jean Blaszczyk and Calvin Floyd Ellis Sr., passed away on April 23, 2026 at his home in Eastpointe Michigan.
Anthony was known for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a deep love for life and found joy in boating, traveling, sports, and especially his connection to Kentucky. A talented athlete, Anthony played basketball at Eastern Kentucky University, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. Even after returning to Michigan, he made frequent trips back, maintaining strong bonds with those he loved. He was charismatic, genuine, and had a huge heart. Anthony had a way of lighting up every room with his smile. He loved people deeply and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life. Always sharp in appearance, he truly believed in dressing to impress.

Anthony shared a special and devoted relationship with his mother, whom he loved deeply. He checked on her often and cherished their time together, especially their walks. He was also incredibly proud of his three children, Tyler, Jenna, and Jacksen, who were truly his heart. His love extended fully to his siblings, nieces, and nephews—he was passionate about his family and was always their biggest supporter.

On August 28, 2009, Anthony married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Ellis. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, traveling, riding their Harleys, and spending time on the water. After the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Anthony found comfort and companionship in his beloved dog, Frankie.

Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Ellis; his father, Calvin Floyd Ellis Sr.; his brother, Pascal Eugene Ellis; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Rebecca Ellis; and his maternal grandparents, Herman and Hannah Harless.

He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Jean Blaszczyk; his siblings, Calvin (Lora) Ellis, Danny (Shanna) Ellis, Rebecca (Jason) Hays, Sherry (Richard) Rietz, Jamie Blaszczyk, Raymond Ellis, and Lucas Ellis; and his cherished children, Tyler Hopp, Jenna Ellis, and Jacksen Ellis. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and supported wholeheartedly.

Anthony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
