Arthur Abbott Obituary

Arthur Donald Abbott (Age 81) of Madison Heights, Michigan, passed away on December 15, 2020. He's the proud son of the late Harvey and Olive Abbott from Tawas, Michigan. He's the loving father to Michael, Jeremy, and Meaghan (Jacob) Shauni. He is preceded in death by his brothers Jack and Neil and sister Dorcas May. He led a full life volunteering for and being involved in many organizations including the Jaycees, Tourette Syndrome Association, the Greater Detroit Sunfish Club, the United Methodist Church youth group (Warren, MI), the Detroit Zoo (Docent), and as an usher at the Fox Theater. He had a love for exploring the world. His travels included London, Australia, South America, Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, the Caribbean, and to Ireland with his daughter, Meaghan. Memorial donations in memory of Arthur can be made to the American Lung Association or The Alzheimer's Association, in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are being made by Wessels and Wilk Funeral Home at 23690 Woodward, Pleasant ridge, MI 48069. 248-543-0100 Visitation hours will be on Friday, December 18th, from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 19th, from Noon until 2 p.m. with the service immediately to follow by invitation only. Due to social distancing restrictions, only 25 people at a time will be allowed in the Funeral Home. Please limit your time to allow everyone to pay their respects.
