Barbara W. Brownell

Barbara Jean Brownell, age 79, passed away peacefully July 10, 2020 due to Alzheimers. She was born May 2, 1941 in Royal Oak, Michigan to James and Ruth Winters. She married her high school friend and love, Joseph Tesdahl Brownell, in June of 1962.Barbara was a devoted wife and mother, and spent her life caring for her family. For over 40 years she worked with mothers and their infant children at her church, Ferndale Assembly of God. For a few years after high school she worked as a bookkeeper for Blue Shield of Michigan and later after the children were grown went back to bookkeeping, a job she loved.Barbara is survived by her husband Joseph; sister Dorthy Nordbeck; sister and husband Ruth (Peggy) and Ken Rittmueller; her son and his wife Steven and Roslyn Brownell; her two daughters and their husbands Cynthia and Adam Simnowitz, Joanna and Vinny Palazzolo; 6 grandchildren. 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved dearly.For those of you not able to or do not feel comfortable attending the service, we will be broadcasting the service on zoom.
