Chance Tess Obituary

Chance Phillip Tess, age 65, of Hazel Park, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 26, 2022.


He was born on June 7, 1957, the son of Joe Stanley and Mary Ann (Mintz)Tess.  Preceding Chance in death are his parents.  He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Elaine (Jose) Tess-Navarro and his newborn grandson Javier Antonio Navarro of Rochester Hills; his former wife/mother of his daughter, Elaine Susan (James) Anthony of Lapeer; 2 siblings, Roark (Diane) Tess of Lansing and Cyndy (Daniel) Groulx of Ottawa, Canada;4nieces/nephews, Shelley (Jason) Helton of Plymouth, Cheryl (John) Nicewicz of Lowell, Ryan (Candice) Tess of Lansing,and James Groulx of Ottawa, Canada; 4 great-nieces/nephews, Nevaeh Helton, Kodey & Kase Nicewicz  and Kaelyn, Owen and Dalton Tess; and best-friend, Ronna Whetstone of Westland.

Chance graduated from Ferndale High School (1975) and Lawrence Technological University (1979) where he majored in Construction& Electrical Engineering.  He was currently a plant engineer at Chrysler Corporation.  He also owned Pinball Wizard, a video game workshop in Hazel Park. 

Chance was a very talented person who could fix anything when given the opportunity.

According to Chance’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  The Wessels & Wilk Funeral Home in Pleasant Ridge handled details.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made at www.wesselsandwilk.com.
