David Wayne Hinsley Sr. passed away at the age of 76 on August 9, 2019 at his home in Southfield,Michigan. David was born in Quanah, Texas on September 28, 1942 to Ruth Lorene (Fulfer) Hinsley and Richard Raymond Hinsley.David was one of fifteen children. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, J.B. Hinsley, Richard James Hinsley; sisters, Linda Sue, Carolyn Sue, Ophelia Hunt of Bagwell (Red River), Onita Harris of Quanah (Hardeman), Mildred Louise Fodge of Dallas.David is survived by seven children, sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; including his son, David Wayne Hinsley Jr. and wife Ilsa Hinsley; daughter, Susan Kay Hinsley-Thomas; daughter, Tracie Diane Tennell and husband Kris Tennell; son, Aaron Michael Hinsley and wife Beth Hinsley; daughter, Amy Alizabeth Sallie and husband Christopher Sallie; daughter, Jeanette Louise Hinsley (Casey Stepien); son, Austin Reed Hinsley; grandchildren, David Matthew Hinsley (Jennifer Hinsley), Jacob IanHinsley, Samuel Duncan Hinsley, Zoe Elizabeth Hinsley, Tricia Nicole Hinsley-Thomas, Henry Raymond Steele II, Alexander Eugene Steele, Christopher Adam Steele, Jacob Michael Hinsley, Isabella Rose Hinsley, Aria Marie Hinsley, Hayden Alizabeth Sallie, Collins Lucille Sallie, Andy Grace Sallie, Liv Michaella Sallie, Hunter Warren Hinsley; great grandchildren, David Matthew Hinsley, Ellie Jean Hinsley, Austin Ray Steele, Eli Mason Steele, Lily Arlene Steele, Liam Stephen Steele, Henry Raymond Steele III; brothers,Elmer Hinsley of Arizona, Raymond Hinsley and Tommy Hinsley of Dallas, Don Hinsley of Wellington (Collingsworth); sisters, Lulu (Lula Bell) Bishop of Canadian (Hemphill), Francies (Lavern) Hiser of Lubbock, Lee Pitts of Plainview; and many loving family members and friends. David loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren fiercely; no matter how far away they lived or how long it had been since they'd last spoken. He was very proud of his Texas roots and had endless stories of his childhood and the wonderful people that surrounded him growing up in the south. Living in Michigan for over 30 years, people would notice his southern accent and always ask where he was from. He'd just laugh and say, "Texas, the best state."The family will celebrate David's life with a memorial scheduled for October 12, 2019 at 1:00pm in Dallas, Texas. All are welcome to attend.
