We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Wessels & Wilk Funeral Home
Deborah Jean Harris was born July 11, 1954 to Joe Willie Harris and Jo Nathan Harris. She was educated in the Detroit Public School system and graduated from Chadsey High School in 1972.She worked for Detroit Public Schools from 1986 until her retirement in July of 2020.
Deborah enjoyed many things, her Christian ministry, good food, redecorating the home she shared with Nikkei and crocheting.
From an early age, Deborah was raised in a religious household and comes from a long line of Baptist believers. In her mid-twenties, she was contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had many questions. The answers they showed her from the Bible were most insightful. She loved what she was learning and was baptized as one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in June of 1981 at a convention held at the Pontiac Silverdome.
Deborah is survived by her two children, Nicole Harris and La Don Harris; her three siblings, Anthony Harris, Linda Harris, and Raynard Harris; along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
