Dinomachi G. Manolakas
2-7-1926 to 1-7-2022
Beloved wife of George M. Manolakas deparated this earth on the holy day of Epiphany (January 6, 2022) to join our blessed Lord and Savior. She is now at rest in God’s heavenly kingdom with her beloved mother Marianthy (née Voyiatzidis) and father Andonis Proventgas and her beloved sister Despina Kallikis (Stellio and son Mihali) and her many loving departed family members and friends.
Dinomachi mother to Stamatia Eugenia Garris (Steven) and Marianthy Maria Haight (Christopher).
Grandmother to Jenny Grutter (Jason), Angela Hazelton (Wade), Stephanie Simon (Jacob), Sophia Garris, Jack Garris, George Haight, Luke Haight and Paul Haight.
Great grandmother to Porter, Paisley, Evyenia and Aubriella Grutter.
She is aunt to many nieces and nephews and Godparent to Angela Williams, Michael Manolakas and Argero Yiakouma.
Dinomachi was born in Chios, Greece. She lived through wars and times of famine which left a lasting impression on her.
She deeply loved her family as they were the center of her universe. She instilled that same love for family and country in her children and grandchildren. She immigrated to the United States after her marriage to George. She left behind all her family to start a new life in America where she raised her family in faith and with love. Her faith and church was the glue that enriched her life.
She greatly enjoyed participating in all the baking and sewing activities of Philoptochos whenever she could. We thank her for all the sacrifices she made for her husband, family and church. Dinomachi loved her church and her faith. They sustained her during turbulent times in life.
Dinomachi was a loving and kind hearted lady who left a lasting and heartwarming impression on those who knew her.
We thank our friends, family, Helping Hands/Loving Hearts, and Henry Ford Hospice for the loving, gentle, and heartfelt care they provided. Your kindness, gentleness, love and prayers will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Dinomachi will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by those who knew and loved her.
Eternal be her memory!
