In Loving Memory of Ester “Nanay” Concepcion 1933-2025 Ester was born on June 22, 1933, in Manila, Philippines. She was amongst twelve other siblings, which she helped raise after only completing her sixth grade education. In 1953, she married her husband, Antonio “Tatay,” and together they birthed and raised seven children- Victoria “Vicky,” Erlinda “Beng,” Myrna, Yolanda “Yoli,” Rogelio “Rogel,” Priscilla “Prescy,” and Maricel. In 1995, Ester and Antonio moved to the United States to live with Erlinda and her family. Ester dedicated her life to being a loving housewife, and embodied the traits of a great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared a lot of cherishable memories with her family, notably being remembered for her outstanding cooking skills, crochet creations, and love for bingo and solitaire. In December 2024, Ester encountered numerous medical complications; she was cared for around-the-clock by her daughter Erlinda at Maple Manor in Novi, along with Maricel and family, and genuine healthcare services provided by Maple Manor staff. Ester’s life came to a peaceful end on April 15th, 2025. She is survived by her children- Victoria, Erlinda, Yolanda, Rogelio, Priscilla, and Maricel; along with twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She is united in Heaven with her husband Antonio, daughter, Myrna, and granddaughter, Roselle. At the time of death, Ester was surrounded by her family at bedside both in-person and remotely from around the world. “Nanay” has touched her family and all of those who have helped her with a heart-warming smile and laugh and has left us with a plethora of loving memories. May God grant unto her eternal rest, and the gift of heavenly paradise. Written by Chris Negapatan
