Florentino Bongay Jr.

Jun Florentino Bongay Jr. aged 81, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, in Westland, Michigan. Born on April 15, 1942, in Hinagaran Negros Occidental, he lived a life guided by the principles of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of creation.

Jun, known to many as Florentino Bongay Jr., was a man whose soul resonated with the divine harmony of music. He possessed a remarkable gift for singing and composing, using his talents to uplift the spirits of those around him. Through his melodies, he brought solace, joy, and inspiration to the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

In his journey through life, Jun cherished the sacred bonds of family. He is survived by his children, Junivil, Ruben, Julienne, Vilmaflor, Edwin, Allona, Rolph, and Sean, who carry forward his legacy of love and devotion. He was also a beloved sibling to Florita, Gemma, Julia, Elvira, Jovilo, and Helen. Jun's beloved wife, Vilma, preceded him in death, but their eternal connection endures in the realm of cherished memories.

As we gather to honor Jun's life, we invite you to join us in a visitation and memorial service. The service will be held on January 12, 2024, from 4-8 PM at the sacred grounds of Wessels & Wilk Funeral Home. It is an opportunity for us to come together, to reflect upon the blessings Jun bestowed upon us, and to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.

Jun Florentino Bongay Jr. departure leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have known him. Let us remember him with gratitude for the beauty he brought into our lives and the lessons he taught us about the power of music and the importance of cherishing our loved ones. May his soul find eternal rest in the embrace of the divine, and may his spirit continue to inspire us to live with humility, gratitude, and reverence for all of creation.
