Irene Mary Chilkiewicz

Born Irene Mary Hobkirk October 22nd 1923 in Aberdeen, Scotland, later residing in Perthshire, Scotland. Irene served in the British army during WW II and was stationed in southern England. During the latter part of the war, she met Tadeusz Chilkiewicz (deceased), a Polish soldier attached to the British tank command. They married in England in 1944 . Irene and Tadeusz had two children (Maria and Ted) before coming to America in 1953. Tadeusz would eventually take a job with General Motors. They would have two more children (Anthony and Andrew). Irene was a loving and caring homemaker and is survived by four children Maria Leskovitz (husband Angelo Leskovitz), Ted Chilkiewicz (wife Marian Chilkiewicz), Anthony Chilkiewicz (wife Donna Chilkiewicz), Andrew Chilkiewicz (wife Brenda Chilkiewicz) and nine grandchildren, Mark, Scott, Karen, Steven (deceased), Chelsea, Andrea, Kendell, Kelsey and Hannah. In addition, Irene had eight great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation is Saturday Feb. 3rd from 1pm until the time of her Funeral Service 7 pm at the Wessels & Wilk Funeral Home 23690 Woodward Ave. Pleasant Ridge 48069.
