Janet Wood age 94 formerly of Ferndale Passed away Wednesday June 20th . Janet was the beloved wife of the late Robert. Dear Aunt of Carol, Thomas, Suzanne, Steve, Sandy, Randy and Sean. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and loved to take part in their social events.She had been a very active member of the Ferndale Seniors Group. She retired from General Motors in 1980. Afterwards, she became very involved in numerous volunteer opportunities, including the Open Door Ministry at Fort Street Presbyterian in Detroit.She is a graduate of Denby High School in Detroit and up until very recently still enjoyed getting together with several classmates for lunch. She loved to travel and enjoyed many Caribbean cruises, vacations in Hawaii, Florida, Europe, the British Isles. A highlight of her travels was a trip to Australia. She loved to spend time with her friends and family.
