Matthew LaForest Obituary

Matt LaForest died May 25, 2022 unexpectedly in Grand Blanc. Matt worked for 20 plus years at Champion Auto Sales in Flint. While at Champion, he was often referred to as "Money Matt". Matt retired shortly after leaving Champion due to his kidneys. Matt and ex-wife Lisa have two boys Christian and Caleb La Forest. Matt was born in Rochester, Michigan on June 2, 1973 to Lynn and Mary La Forest. He is survived by his sisters Nancy(Roger) Williams and Emily (Anthony) Brzezinski. His partner was Bobbie Riselay of Flint. He was also known as “Poppa Coot” to Anjel Mason, Santiago Mason, Ahlijah Berry, Korah Berry. Matt was a founding member of the Section 19 Rowdies Hockey Club. He passionately enjoyed Michigan football games and the trash talking that the rivalry created. No services are planned at this time.
