Nina (Swerbilow) Seizew

Nina D. Seizew, age 89, passed away January 25, 2022.

Nina was the beloved wife of Alex R. Seizew for 57 years; loving mother of Maria Seizew, Michael Seizew, Sasha Seizew, and Nina (Robert) Galluccio; devoted grandmother of Alexander (Elle) Seizew, Alexis (Michael) Pokorski, and Lauren (Seth) Krauss; proud great-grandmother of 5; and sister of Maria Torkelson, Lubow Fabrycky, and Kathryn Nickle.

Nina was a gentle soul. She was wonderfully funny and fun-loving. Always a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She simply adored her grandson. She loved animals and plants; gardening and flowers were a couple of passions in her life. She just loved the smell of Roses and other flowers. Faith was also very important to her. She was a long-time member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, which she supported whole-heartedly. Family was also one of the most important things in her life. She loved to cook for them...and she was awfully good at it. 

Earlier in life, Nina knew beauty and culture, hardship, and a wonderful career caring and helping others. She was a ballet dancer and an artist. She loved painting, drawing, and crafting. Nina survived the turbulent times of World War II. She was a Medical Technician, working at the VA hospitals and even worked in the early days of cancer research.  

Visitation Tuesday, February 1, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Panihida Service at Assumption of the Virgin Mary, 2101 Livernois, Ferndale, Michigan. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 2, from 10:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Rite also taking place at the church. Interment will take place at a later date at the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York.
