Patricia Ann Lowing PHD.

Patricia Ann Lowing was born in Detroit on October 7, 1931 to parents Vera A. Butler and Charles E. Butler. She spent most of her life in the metro Detroit area before moving out to Fenton, Michigan in 2010. She married Donald L. Lowing in 1951 and had three children: Joseph Lowing, Martin Lowing, and Lisa McDonald. In the 1970s, Patricia attended Wayne State University where she earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology. She worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland for her Residency and went on to start her own clinic in Birmingham, Michigan. Pat started a non-profit called "A Better Life" and saw patients even if they could not pay her. Pat was devoted to her faith and made sure her grandchildren grew up in the church that she belonged to for many years, Zion Christian Church of Troy, MI. Patricia loved spending time with her family. She took them on epic vacations to Cape Cod, Maine, and Traverse City. She especially loved hosting her family over the holidays and spoiling her grandchildren at every opportunity. Patricia passed away at the age of 85 on October 4th, She is survived by her children Joseph (Jill) Lowing, Martin Lowing, and Lisa (Dave) McDonald; grandchildren Sara (Michael), Jessica (Dave), Carl, Brooke (Gregory), and Jack; sister-in-law Mary Butler; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Harold, daughter-in-law Wendy Lowing, and granddaughter Anna Lowing. Visitation is Friday October 13th starting at 3pm until the time of her Funeral Service 7pm at the Funeral Home.
