Ramon Campos Balde was born on the thirty-first of August, 1954 in San Andres Bukid, Manila, Philippines and was raised by his parents, Candido and Generosa Balde. He has seven brothers and sisters, Oscar, Norma, Candido Jr., Edgardo, Alfredo, Lilia, and Edna. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his four children, Janis, Jannelle, Ramon II, and Ramilio, his son-in-law, Scott, his granddaughter Zoe Grace and his favorite honorary "daughter," Mara. After moving from the Philippines to the United States, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Madonna University and worked at National Health Laboratories, then studied medicine for two years at UERM in Manila, Philippines. Afterwards, back in Michigan, he began work at BioMedical Laboratories, where he first met the love of his life. The two moved to Preferred Laboratories and then to Quest Diagnostics. Throughout his professional career, he also worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Red Cross Hospital, and Detroit Medical Center.Ramon and Jennifer Balde were married on his birthday, the thirty-first of August, 1991. They settled in a townhouse in Southfield, Michigan before eventually moving to their first home in Oxford, Michigan and then building a cozy new home just around the corner. There, they continued to raise their children as well as bring in a multitude of beloved pets, friends, and family.People who know Ramon know him best for his love of his family and friends, basketball, music, gardening and cooking, especially steak, fried chicken and "Hawaiian breakfast." He is also widely remembered for his warmth, kindness and for being extraordinarily welcoming. He never hesitates to open the doors of his home and ensures that those he loves feel cared for, comfortable and filled with positive vibes. As a bridge of peace within his family and beyond, his legacy includes bringing people together despite varying differences.
