Rev. Paul F. Gateman

Rev. Paul F. Gateman age 76 of Ferndale, Mi. passed away Tuesday May 5th at his home surrounded by his family. Paul is survived by his wife Eve of 52 years, They were College sweethearts Children; Mathew Gateman, Lori (Tom) Koster. Grandchildren; Madeline, Evan, Andrew, Paul and Meredith. Paul was the pastor of Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church for 41 years until his retirement. Under  his care Zion became an RIC congregation (Reconciled in Christ) , one of the first congregations to do so in thee Michigan Synod .He did his undergraduate studies at Capital University and went to the seminary at Trinity Seminary in Columbus , Ohio. Paul was an avid gardener and Civil war buff. Visitation is Friday 2-8 pm at the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church 143 Albany (Corner of Woodward Ave.) Ferndale 48220 with a Funeral service Saturday At 11 AM at the church. Additional visitation Saturday from 10 am until the time of his service 11 AM.
