Robert W. Burland Sr.
Southfield, MI. resident passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021. He was 90 years old.
Bob was born January 4, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to Ernest and Sylvia Burland. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ferndale, Michigan. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was honorably discharged in October 1953.
Bob enjoyed a successful career as a commercial real estate broker, owning a firm with several partners. Bob and his wife Kay cherished their vacation home in Sun City, Arizona. They invited friends and family to join them on adventures exploring the region and collecting local Native American artwork. They also loved many trips to their cabin in Mio, Michigan. Nicknamed "Running Turtle Lodge', it was and still is a place for family and friends to gather together. Bob especially loved his yearly deer hunting trips.
Mr. Burland is survived by his wife of 69 years, Kay. He is also survived by two sons, Robert Jr. (Amy) and Thomas (Beth). Bob had five grandchildren, Allyse (Steven), Andrew, Benjamin (Dana). Rachel, and Evan. Also four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Luciana, Cameron and Adrian. Bob was preceded in death by his son Gary.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
