Ronald E. Hoogewerf

Ronald E. Hoogewerf born August 2, 1939 passed away peacefully in his home with family on August 1, 2023 just one day shy of his 84th birthday.  Ron was preceded in death by his wife Holly, son Jeffrey, and son Christopher.  He is survived by his sons Terence, Garrit (Lynn), Grandchildren Kyle, Seth, Carter and Bianca. 

In his youth Ron was quite the athlete.  He was on the school swim team and enjoyed volleyball and wallyball well into his adulthood.  Ron and Holly started their sailing adventures in Caseville, Michigan at HYC (Huron Yacht Club) and were lucky enough to retire early on their sailboat Xanadu.  They enjoyed sailing around the Bahama islands for 13 years.  After Holly's passing he returned to Michigan and lived out the rest of his life with his sons and their families.
